Pennine secures silver standard in Investors In People

Pennine has been praised by the head of Investors In People for being “very committed to good people management practice” after it secured the Silver standard awarded by the international recognised accreditation body.

Investors in People is the UK’s leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great business.

Commenting on Pennine’s success Mr Devoy said: “Achieving the Investors in People Silver standard is something that any organisation should be truly proud of. It is the sign of a company which is very committed to good people management practice and we’d like to congratulate Pennine on their achievement.”

Steve Burrows, Managing Director of Investors in People North of England echoed his praise, saying “This is a fantastic achievement for Pennine and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that good people make a great business and as a proven organisational development framework, Investors in People is designed to help organisations and their people to realise potential, enhance performance and meet goals. With their Silver accreditation, Pennine is certainly working to realise their people potential.”

“Investors in People is the standard when it comes to independent, expert endorsement of a company’s policies and practices in relation to how they nurture and develop their staff,” said Ann Barnes, Pennine’s HR & Business Support Manager. “Accreditation communicates to our staff, customers and potential customers that Pennine is a great employer, one committed to continuous improvement and the highest performance standards.”

The company’s IIP success comes hot on the heels of a recent rebranding exercise. Previously known as Pennine Telecom from September the business became known simply as Pennine. This reflected the fact that whilst it continues to offer extensive telecommunications products and services its portfolio now embraces a much wider range of specialisms.

Trading under the Pennine umbrella the company now has five divisions, PennineUnified, PennineMobile, PennineRadio, PennineCloud and PennineITservices.

These reflect its expertise in two-way radio – the specialism on which the company was originally founded in 1976 – along with unified communications, mobile telephony and the recently launched cloud and IT support services.
